platform for members of the LGBTQ+

community who are also consumers

of mental health, psychological and/or psychiatric services.

We aim to provide a supportive space

for those dealing with the dual stigma

A Gay Poem

Somebody told me to write a gay poem

They did not tell me why

I thought that I understood

I thought that I knew it all

They said that I should just get on with it

Get on with what, pray tell?

But of course, writing a gay poem!

Maybe I should start with something sleazy

Or how about something really cool?

I could talk about sexual ecstasy

Maybe I should say something

That really makes me horny

Maybe I should try and become a porn star

Sorry! Your dick is not big enough for the job

Getting back to the subject

I am trying to write a gay poem

I should write about something honorable

I should talk about real gay pride

Not having 3 partners a day

Or consuming poppers and crystal meth

Or hiding out hearing someone preaching hell

I know what! I will talk about gay pride

Real gay pride is about liking yourself unconditionally

It’s about being willing and able to be true to yourself

That is it! I will write about gay pride!
